Mission:

Dance to Connect is dedicated to enhancing lives through dance and movement. We place high value on the integral role of the arts in the growth and development of children, and quality of life for adults of all ages. It is our mission to nurture seeds of acceptance, kindness, and joy within each child by encouraging creativety, self discovery, confidence, and a connection to others, including the global community. Dance to connect is committed to serving all ages through the power of dance by advocating increased awareness of the creative process and healthful benefits of movement and dance.

About:

Marie Aguirre holds a BA in Dance and MS in Dance/Movement Therapy; She is a Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist, Licensed Creative Art Therapist and a National Certified Counselor. Marie founded Dance To Connect in 2005 and is dedicated to providing Creative Arts Therapy to children and adults, Creative Dance to children, and Dance to Connect Improvisation Labs for dancers. Marie has worked with special needs children, adults, and Alzheimer clients in hospital, educational, Day Program settings for 15 years. She has served on the Executive Board of the New York State Chapter of the American Dance Therapy Association as Vice President and Program Director, and the New York City Coordinator of the Dance to Connect Project sponsored by NYS chapter of the ADTA. Marie has also taught Dance To Connect Workshops sponsored by the Elizabeth Seton Women's Center.

Marie is available for private supervision for dance/movement therapists working toward their BC-DMT or LCAT. Contact for fee.
